I agree that credentials do demonstrate a commitment to the profession. However it’s important that employers know who can help them differentiate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. Many organizations have jumped on the credential granting (money train) bandwagon, granting credentials to those who with honest intentions are anxious to differentiate themselves, willing to jump through the hoops and pay. Credentials such as CHES- Certified Health Education Specialist are based on both academic achievements and competency. HPCareer.Net continues to be the best resource for both casting a wide net and as a trusted, unbiased resource for cutting through the alphabet soup of credentials to ensure employers find the best qualified professionals with legitimate skills & expertise.
